Men have authority over women because God has made the one superior to the other, and because they spend their wealth to maintain them. Good women are obedient. They guard their unseen parts because God has guarded them. As for those from whom you fear disobedience, admonish them and send them to beds apart and beat them. Then if they obey you, take no further action against them. Surely God is high, supreme.

All that is needed for evil to succeed, is, that decent human beings do nothing.”

A Tribute to the Brave, and a Goal to Support the Victims of Abuse

This blog is a tribute to the principles that set the bases of our nation:  self determination, free speech, and the respect each and every one of us deserve during our pass through life.  And of course, last but not least, the pursuit of happiness.

There are many heroes who sacrificed their lives in pursuit of those principles, but I’ve chosen to dedicate this blog to the White Rose or Weiße Rose, as it is known in German.

The White Rose was a group of pure and idealistic students, mostly from the University of Munich, who chose to make a difference.  They made their choice fully aware of the odds they would be facing, and the destiny that awaited them if discovered.  They made their choice in a city where nobody could be trusted, sometimes, not even members of the immediate family, because the shadow of the Gestapo was a constant presence in their lives.

They were a small group, but they were brave, and guided by their ideals of personal freedom, as well as by high moral and ethical principles, and their self-imposed discipline.  They lived by these principles till the end.  They never recanted their ideology, or disclosed the names of their associates.  And they died without showing fear to their executioners, who marveled at the poise and strength of their youngest victim, Sophie Scholl.

I dedicate this blog to them because they made a dangerous and difficult choice without hesitation.  They all came from bourgeois families, and even though their parents opposed Hitler, they were not being persecuted.  They chose to do what practically nobody else, other than the Resistance, dared to do.  And they paid with their lives.

But this is meant to be more than an In Memoriam blog.  By remembering and honoring the braves who came before us, we will start asserting, or rather reasserting, the rights and the principles given to us by our fore fathers through the two documents that are the basis of our society: the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

The goal of this blog is to provide help and support to all women who for one reason or another feel threatened or in danger.  The threat can range from spousal or parental physical and verbal abuse, to any kind of pressure by friends or relatives to take steps which will put these women on a path leading them away from any chance of self-determination.

We will provide contact information for hot-lines as well as shelters for abused women in all 50 states of the Union.

We are also going to research organizations affiliated with Christian churches, which can provide counseling and shelter for those people who wish to change religions, but feel threatened by their nuclear environment.

And even if you are not a person in need, you may know someone who does require support, even if you are not aware of it.  Therefore, please pass on this information, because at some point it may save somebody’s life.

Please visit us regularly because we will be updating the information as soon as it becomes available.
